5 Lifestyle Changes you Should Incorporate Now

Healthy lifestyle

It’s not necessary that you have to put multiple face packs and lotions to pamper your skin. Instead, a few lifestyle changes will help you have clear and healthy skin. These lifestyle changes will also be a permanent solution as we are trying to understand the problem from the grassroots level. Good skincare comes from a healthy lifestyle. So here are a few things that will help you prevent all your skin problems.

5 Healthy Lifestyle Changes

1. Protection from Sun

One cannot emphasize enough about sun protection. It is absolutely important in today’s world to protect your skin from sun and pollution. Exposure to the harmful sun rays can cause pigmentation, wrinkles, and spots.

Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more. Apply the sunscreen before you leave and reapply every two hours if you’re out. Wear a cap or use a scarf as a mask for your face. Wear cotton clothes that fully cover your body. Clothing is an important part of skincare. Wearing tight clothes or rough materials can create rashes and irritation. That’s why the cotton fabric is the most recommended one for summer. However, over the years, organic cotton is taking the limelight. Organic cotton clothing is the best for the skin as it is free of chemical residues and soft on our skin. It absorbs sweat and keeps the skin dry.

If you can avoid, that would be the best thing to do. Go out in the Sun with sun protection only when it is necessary and always seek shade when you are out. When it comes to the Sun, prevention is better than cure.

2. Don’t smoke

Smoking is a complete no-no for your body and skin. Smoking increases blood pressure and decreases blood flow, which makes the skin look older and paler. Smoking damages collagen and elastin that enables the elasticity characteristic of the skin. Smoking also causes wrinkles.

3. Treat it right

We may not realize but the way we clean and wipe our skin can have an impact on it. Our skin is delicate and we have to treat it gently. Wash your face at least three times a day and take a shower two times a day. Do not use a rough scrubber or pumice stone.

So many people love taking a hot shower. However, taking a really long shower is not good for your skin as it removes oil and you are giving more time than required for chemicals to stay on your skin. Always pat dry and don’t rub your skin with a towel. Avoid soaps for your face and go for face wash. Adopt the habit of applying a moisturizer.

4. A healthy diet

What you eat directly reflects on your skin. There are so many food items that help your skin feel better. Generally, stay hydrated and take a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Take fatty fish, walnuts, avocados, broccoli, tomatoes, papaya. Also, avoid a lot of junk and fried foods.

5. Manage stress

Stress can mess your hormones and can cause acne. Stress and lack of sleep are the biggest enemies. Exercise, yoga, and meditation will help you control your mind and body. Your hormones are regulated and eventually, your mind, body, and skin are given care. Have a regular and continuous sleep cycle. When you sleep, ensure there is no makeup on your face.

Lifestyle changes are not easy to make. Not everyone can lead a life where one can avoid junk food and do yoga. In that case, you can always pamper yourself weekly or twice a week. Give yourself a spa day and apply masks. Understand what type of skin you have and use products that are suitable. Use potatoes, honey, milk, rose water for moisturizing, and cleansing. But if you make lifestyle changes, then every day is a spa day for you.

Know what you are applying on your skin. Read the names of the ingredients and their effects on your skin. It is also advised not to use many creams or lotions or toner before going to sleep.

If you still don’t have any positive transformation after so many DIYs spa days and healthy lifestyle changes, check with a dermatologist.
